me230Elissa Kane is an independent author who is currently writing her first YA fantasy novel, Legacy of Time, which has a projected completion date of late 2018. She is also a published poet and has written for several craft publications, including Interweave.

Elissa grew up in sunny South Florida. While everyone spent their days at the beach, Elissa spent her days indoors listening to music and watching MTV. An avid music lover, Elissa is never far from her iPod, Walkman, and record player. She has an eclectic taste in music that ranges from Otis Redding to Anthrax. Some of her favorite musicians are Duran Duran, Concrete Blonde, Foreigner, Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, and Stevie Nicks. A Netflix fanatic, Elissa queues mostly ’80s comedies, like Sixteen Candles, CaddyshackClue, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and The Breakfast Club. She is also a huge fan of the Netflix series, Stranger Things.

Never without a cup of Earl Grey tea close by, Elissa writes what she likes to read. Her favorite quote is by Toni Morrison, “If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”

Elissa has been working in publishing for fifteen years and has a solid understanding of the process of book publishing. She has attended various trade shows, including the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) where she worked as an author consultant during book signings.

When she is not writing, Elissa can be found crafting. She is an avid crocheter, hand stitcher, and cross stitcher. She is also a music lover and ’80s fanatic.
